Overview

Jîjê-vêtha Bî was founded durring the late 14th century in winter of the year 1298, by Khëd Êbêpí. The establishment of Jîjê-vêtha Bî was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Khëd Êbêpí struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Jîjê-vêtha Bî as a prison colony.

Jîjê-vêtha Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Jîjê-vêtha Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Jîjê-vêtha Bî is buildings are built arround a single narrow baked earthen mainstreet which forms a counterclockwise spiral to give the town a over all circular shape. The town is protected by a humble stone fence which is tall enough to provide adiquite cover for defenders to fire from, but no more than that. Jîjê-vêtha Bî's peasent-grade are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.

A look around Jîjê-vêtha Bî gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring just long enough for it to be uncomfortable. This all rests atop the unmistakable impression the town is one of the strictest places imaginable. Everyone’s actions are clearly directed by laws they keep in heart and mind at all times. Orderly byond order is a phrase which Jîjê-vêtha Bî brings to mind.

Cultural Notes

Jîjê-vêtha Bî is led by one or more incompetents. While they must have been very good at something to have acquired the position, they are fundamentally incapable of leading. Uncontrolled passions or lusts, commitment to a hopelessly impractical ideal, pigheaded obstinacy in the face of failure, a total lack of charisma or interpersonal skills, or profound laziness might all unfit them for their post.

Jîjê-vêtha Bî's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by dynamic designs and complex architectural plan forms; intended to heighten feelings of motion and sensuality, and frequently based on the oval. It made extensive and extreme use of: Grandeur, Contrast, Curves and twists, Rich surface treatments, Gilded statuary, Bright colors, Vividly painted ceilings, Fragmented or deliberately incomplete elements, Large-scale frescoes, Dramatic central projections on an external facade, the use of plaster, stucco, or marble finishing, Illusory effects such as trompe l’oeil, and pear-shaped domes. While beloved by the nobility, the common folk tended to despise the style due to the massive consumption of resources required for even a small building constructed in this style.

In Jîjê-vêtha Bî rainbows form quite often above the Town.

The Siren near Jîjê-vêtha Bî are known to be a mutant strain of the creature.

Jîjê-vêtha Bî's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves creating small tokens to channel Elven High Magic energies of tier 3 via proclamations.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century the Kami spared the town a natural disaster. One of Jîjê-vêtha Bî's local festivals commemorates this miracle.
